Program Overview & Description

We want to make sure you learn as much as possible while you are in Australia. Although Marketing is the focus of the course, you will also be exposed to the cultural, historical, and social nuances of the country. We will take you to the tourist "hot spots" so that when people ask you can say "been there, done that." We will teach you the finer points of Australian English and make sure you meet the locals. By the time you leave, you will even know what "I saw this bloke with a dogs eye in one hand and a stubbie in the other" means.

The two week study tour is based in Sydney and Cairns and is designed to develop a working knowledge of international business and marketing through field experiences, seminars, and presentations. In Sydney, classes will be held at the University of Technology Sydney, while in Cairns we will be based at James Cook University. Field work will be conducted at Sydney Olympic Park, the Sydney Opera House, and the National Basketball League head office, among others.

During your trip, you will stay in comfortable hostel-style accommodation or apartments with other students in the group. Accommodation varies, but typically rooms are shared by 2-4 students. We provide all meals throughout the program and all in-country transportation.

This program can be combined with the program in New Zealand (May 24 - June 4) and/or Fiji (June 7 - 17) for an additional 3 or 6 credits.
